| Beschrijving voorzijde | The obverse features the fourth definitive effigy of Queen Elizabeth II as sculpted by Raphael Maklouf, rendered in right-facing portrait with the customary diadem and regal attire. The peripheral legend reads ELIZABETH II · D · G · REGINA · GIBRALTAR, invoking the Latin formula 'by the Grace of God, Queen of Gibraltar.' The denominational value and year of issue 2022 are incorporated into the obverse field. The portrait is executed in the classic tradition of Commonwealth coinage, presenting a dignified and detailed bust of the sovereign. |

| Beschrijving keerzijde | The reverse presents a commemorative composition marking Queen Elizabeth II's Platinum Jubilee through two historic photographic images separated by a central sceptre motif. The upper image depicts Her Majesty during her landmark 1957 Christmas Broadcast, the first televised Christmas address by a British monarch, coinciding with the 25th anniversary of King George V's inaugural radio broadcast. The lower image portrays the Queen delivering her 2020 coronavirus address on the 75th anniversary of VE Day, in which she invoked the wartime lyric 'We will meet again.' The sceptre dividing the images is entwined with sprigs of oak inspired by the House of Windsor Crest, flanked at both ends by St Edward's Crown and centred with the shield of the Royal Coat of Arms. A peripheral inscription reproduces the Queen's celebrated 1947 dedication speech: 'I declare before you all that my whole life whether it be long or short shall be devoted to your service and the service of our great imperial family to which we all belong.' |
