Surrounding this central portrait, arranged radially in the middle ring, are the ten Queen's Beasts in high relief — heraldic creatures including the Lion of England, the Griffin of Edward III, the Unicorn of Scotland, the Black Bull of Clarence, the White Lion of Mortimer, the Yale of Beaufort, the White Greyhound of Richmond, the Red Dragon of Wales, the White Horse of Hanover, and the Unicorn — interspersed with swords and sceptres.
