The central field features a composition of seven stylised pre-decimal coin representations, each depicted as a raised disc bearing its denomination: 6d (sixpence), 3d (threepenny bit), 1/- (shilling), ½d (halfpenny), 1d (penny), 2/- (florin), and 2/6d (half crown), arranged around the central inscription 15 FEB 1971.
