Beschrijving voorzijde Right-facing crowned effigy of Queen Elizabeth II, wearing the George IV State Diadem with drop earrings and a necklace, rendered in the fourth definitive portrait style. The legend H.M. QUEEN ELIZABETH II arcs around the upper field, with TRISTAN DA CUNHA continuing to the right, all in raised Latin lettering within a beaded border. Aanvullende informatie

Tristan da Cunha, a British Overseas Territory in the South Atlantic with a permanent population of around 250, has no functioning retail economy in the conventional sense — coins issued in its name are produced entirely for the collector market. This 2018 release belongs to a long-running series commemorating objects used during Elizabeth II's 1953 coronation at Westminster Abbey, each piece isolating a single ceremonial item. The Jewelled Sword of Offering was presented to the Queen during the investiture portion of the service, a rite unchanged in its essential form since the medieval period.
