Additional information

Tristan da Cunha issues coins primarily for the collector market — the island's population of around 250 people has little use for commemorative crowns. This piece honors the HMS Chasseur association through the British overseas territory's long-standing practice of licensing its coinage rights to external minting operations, a revenue arrangement that funds island administration. The Pobjoy Mint held this contract for many years.
