Below the group, a rectangular cartouche bears the inscription 'BRIDESMAIDS & PAGEBOYS', with the denomination 'ONE CROWN' in bold lettering beneath. The circumferential legend, reading 'Diamond Wedding of H.M. Queen Elizabeth II & H.R.H. Prince Philip', encircles the design in a continuous arc. At the lower field, a facsimile of Prince Philip's signature is accompanied by his personal heraldic badge. The reverse was engraved by Robert Elderton and demonstrates fine detail in the figural grouping, with frosted relief set against a polished field. |
