| Reverse description | The central device depicts a group of bridesmaids and pageboys from the 1947 royal wedding of Princess Elizabeth and Prince Philip, rendered as a group portrait emerging from an open book, symbolising the historical record of the Diamond Wedding anniversary. Below the group, a rectangular cartouche bears the inscription 'BRIDESMAIDS & PAGEBOYS', with the denomination 'ONE CROWN' in bold lettering beneath. The circumferential legend, reading 'Diamond Wedding of H.M. Queen Elizabeth II & H.R.H. Prince Philip', encircles the design in a continuous arc. At the lower field, a facsimile of Prince Philip's signature is accompanied by his personal heraldic badge. The reverse was engraved by Robert Elderton and demonstrates fine detail in the figural grouping, with frosted relief set against a polished field. |
