| Reverse description | High-relief depiction of the Nativity scene inspired by Renaissance artistic tradition, presenting the Virgin Mary, crowned and nimbed, seated centrally and gazing down toward the Christ Child lying in a manger before her. Flanking the central group are several winged angels and attendant figures, all rendered with exceptional sculptural depth against a deeply recessed mirror field. The lower portion of the composition features the manger with draped fabric and architectural elements beneath. The denomination '1 CROWN' is inscribed along the lower exergual area in raised Roman capital letters, with the Pobjoy Mint mark 'PM' appearing on the reverse field. |
