| Aanvullende informatie |
Tristan da Cunha is a British Overseas Territory so remote — 2,787 kilometres from the nearest landmass — that its commemorative coinage program exists almost entirely for the collector market. The island's permanent population of roughly 260 people has little use for crown-sized pieces, and none of this issue entered circulation in any meaningful sense.
The coin marks the birth of Princess Charlotte in 2015 — except it was struck in 2012, anticipating a royal birth that had not yet occurred. The Pobjoy Mint produced several such speculative "Birth of a Princess" pieces across multiple territories before the actual birth was announced.
