Issued to mark the handover of the Olympic flag from Beijing to London ahead of the 2012 Games, this coin sits in a crowded field of Isle of Man Olympic commemoratives — the treasury there has issued them prolifically since the 1980s. The Pobjoy Mint, which struck the majority of Isle of Man coinage during this period, produced these to the same sterling silver specification used across their proof commemorative range.
