Reverse description A dramatic naval battle scene depicting sailing warships of the line engaged in combat during the Battle of the Nile (1798), with billowing cannon smoke rising above the vessels and additional ships visible in the background. Below the central scene, a banner inscribed THE BATTLE OF THE NILE-1798 separates the composition, beneath which appears a facsimile of Nelson's signature. The date 1805 appears prominently in the lower field, flanked by the Pobjoy Mint mark PM. The curved legend THE BICENTENARY OF TRAFALGAR arcs along the upper border, while ONE CROWN is inscribed along the lower border, with decorative foliate ornaments framing the design.
