Obverse description Right-facing draped bust of Queen Elizabeth II, wearing the Girls of Great Britain and Ireland tiara, as modelled by Ian Rank-Broadley. The effigy is depicted with fine detail in the hair and drapery. The peripheral legend reads ELIZABETH II to the upper left and ISLE OF MAN to the upper right, with the date 2005 at lower right, all within a fine dentilated border.

Reverse description A dynamic naval battle scene depicting the Battle of the Nile of 1798, showing multiple men-of-war sailing ships engaged in combat, with billowing sails, cannon smoke, and choppy seas rendered in fine relief. In the lower portion of the inner field, the inscription THE BATTLE OF THE NILE · 1798 appears above a facsimile of Nelson's signature, with the date 1805 and the Pobjoy Mint mark PM below. The denomination ONE CROWN is inscribed along the lower rim. The outer legend THE BICENTENARY OF TRAFALGAR arcs across the upper field, and the design is framed by a decorative rope-and-anchor border.
