Obverse description The fourth definitive effigy of Queen Elizabeth II faces right, rendered in high relief after the portrait by Ian Rank-Broadley. The Queen is depicted wearing the Girls of Great Britain and Ireland tiara, with the engraver's initials IRB incused at the truncation of the shoulder. The encircling legend reads ELIZABETH II ISLE OF MAN, with the date 2006 positioned at lower right. Three depictions of the Isle of Man triskelion coat of arms punctuate the legend at evenly spaced intervals within the field.

Reverse description The central design depicts Julius Caesar in military attire set against a dramatic scene of the Battle of Thapsus (46 B.C.) in the background, the composition framed by an encircling laurel wreath. The denomination 1 CROWN appears in the lower exergue, accompanied by the Pobjoy Mint mark PM.
