Tristan da Cunha, a British Overseas Territory in the South Atlantic with a permanent population of around 250, issues commemorative coinage largely as a revenue exercise — the coins rarely if ever circulate on the island itself. This piece marks two simultaneous occasions: Elizabeth II's 90th birthday and the State Opening of Parliament, both occurring in 2016.
