Pobjoy Mint struck this crown for the Isle of Man under their long-running licensing arrangement, one of several dozen commemorative issues they produced for the island during Elizabeth II's reign. The 90th birthday series appeared across multiple territories simultaneously in 2016, making this one of the more prolifically issued royal milestone coinages of recent decades. Collector demand was modest at best — the market for copper-nickel crown-sized commemoratives from small jurisdictions has been soft since the 1990s.
