| 正面描述 | Diademed and draped bust of Queen Elizabeth II facing right, after the effigy modelled by Arnold Machin. The legend ISLE OF MAN arcs along the left periphery and ELIZABETH II along the right, with the date 1980 positioned in the lower field flanked by the Pobjoy Mint mark PM. The portrait depicts the Queen wearing a tiara and a lightly draped neckline, rendered with fine sculptural detail against a mirror-polished proof field. |

Issued by the Isle of Man under license through Pobjoy Mint, this gold crown was one of several parallel issues struck simultaneously in different metals to mark the Queen Mother's eightieth birthday — a commercial strategy Pobjoy had refined through the 1970s by working closely with smaller Crown dependencies whose minting rights could be exploited more flexibly than the Royal Mint's mandates allowed. The gold version carried a fineness matching sovereign coinage, tying it aesthetically to a bullion tradition while functioning primarily as a collector piece.
