Tristan da Cunha, a British Overseas Territory in the South Atlantic, is the most remote permanently inhabited island on earth — the nearest landmass is Saint Helena, nearly 2,500 kilometers away. The island's 250-odd residents had no regular airstrip; supply ships arrived only a few times a year. Coins issued under its name are struck at contracted mints and never circulate on the island itself, functioning purely as collectibles distributed through philatelic and numismatic agencies.
