附加信息

Tristan da Cunha, a British Overseas Territory in the South Atlantic with a permanent population of roughly 250 people, issues coins primarily as collector revenue — the island has no meaningful retail economy for crown-sized silver. This piece commemorates the withdrawal of gold coinage from British circulation, a process that effectively ended with the Gold Standard Act of 1925 and the subsequent final withdrawal in 1931 when Britain abandoned the standard entirely under the pressure of the Great Depression.

The fourth definitive portrait of Elizabeth II was sculpted by Ian Rank-Broadley and introduced across Commonwealth coinage in 1998.
