| Reverse description | The allegorical figure of Britannia stands in full length at the centre of the field, facing left, clad in classical robes and a crested helmet. She holds a trident in her right hand and a shield emblazoned with the Union Flag in her left, with a regal lion seated at her side. The legend RULE BRITANNIA arcs along the upper periphery, while the denomination ONE CROWN and the mint mark PM appear in the lower field. |

| Additional information |
Rule Britannia was composed by Thomas Arne for the 1740 masque Alfred, commissioned to celebrate the third birthday of Princess Augusta and the anniversary of the Hanoverian succession. It was never formally adopted as a national anthem, but by the Napoleonic Wars it had acquired the cultural force of one. The 275th anniversary falls squarely on 2015, which anchors the commemorative logic here.
Ascension Island's coin program is administered through the Pobjoy Mint and carries no pretense of local circulation.
