The truncated bust is rendered in high relief against a mirror-polished field. The circumferential legend reads 'H.M. QUEEN ELIZABETH II TRISTAN DA CUNHA' divided around the effigy, with the date '2017' positioned in the lower exergue. A fine beaded border surrounds the entire design.

Zusätzliche Informationen

The Battle of Ambos Nogales in August 1918 was one of the few armed engagements of World War I fought on American soil — or rather, on its border. A dispute over a Mexican soldier crossing into Arizona escalated into a firefight involving U.S. Army troops, local police, and Mexican federal forces, leaving casualties on both sides of the fence. It remains the last battle fought on the continental United States.

Tristan da Cunha, a British Overseas Territory with a population under 300, issues commemorative crowns almost entirely for the collector market. This piece has no circulation history on the island.
