Obverse description Bare-headed effigy of King Edward VII facing right, with a short beard and moustache, engraved by George William de Saulles whose initials 'De S.' appear on the truncation. The boldly modelled portrait fills the field, with a fine dentillated border encircling the coin. The royal legend runs continuously around the periphery in raised Latin lettering, separated by raised dots.
