| Obverse description | Uncrowned right-facing effigy of King Charles III occupies the central field, rendered in high relief after the portrait by Raphael David Maklouf. A small royal cypher appears to the right of the bust. The circumferential legend reads CHARLES III · D · G · REX · F · D · GIBRALTAR · 2023 · ONE CROWN · in raised Latin lettering, divided by pellet stops, running continuously around the periphery of the coin. |

| Reverse description | The Sovereign's Orb, one of the principal regalia used in the coronation of British monarchs, is depicted in full colour at centre, rendered with selective colour printing to highlight its jewelled band set with sapphires and pearls, the amethyst below the cross, and the gemstone-encrusted cross pattée surmounting the globe. A radiating architectural background evoking Westminster Abbey fills the field behind the Orb. The two-part circumferential legend THE THINGS WHICH I HAVE / HERE BEFORE PROMISED is inscribed in raised Latin lettering along the upper and lower border respectively, referencing the Coronation Oath. |
