New Utopia is a micronation claimed by American entrepreneur Lazarus Long (born Howard Turney), who in the 1990s announced plans to construct a sovereign platform state on an uninhabited reef in the Caribbean Sea. No platform was ever built. The coins it issued have no circulation history because there was never a population to circulate them — they are essentially fantasy pieces sold to collectors and ideological sympathizers.
