Aanvullende informatie

Austria's 1 Corona was caught in an awkward monetary moment: the crown system had only been introduced in 1892 as part of a broader currency reform meant to stabilize the dual monarchy's finances, and by 1914 the war had already begun undermining the silver coinage it was supposed to represent. Issues dated 1915 and 1916 were struck in increasingly small quantities as metal was redirected to military procurement.

The 1912 date is particularly common due to restrike activity — the Vienna Mint produced coins bearing that year well beyond 1912 itself, a practice not unique to this denomination but especially pronounced here.
