| Beschrijving keerzijde | Central inner circle depicts two standing figures in mutual greeting against a silhouetted map background: on the left, a Spanish conquistador in period armour and plumed helmet extends his hand; on the right, a Native American figure in traditional feathered headdress and dress reciprocates the gesture, symbolising the encounter of two civilisations. A stylised mountain peak is visible in the middle ground between the figures. The denomination UN CORDOBA is inscribed at the top of the inner circle, with LEY .925 to the lower left and the date 1991 to the lower right; the Mexican Mint mark Mo appears at the right of the inner circle. The broad outer border carries the commemorative legend · ENCUENTRO DE DOS MUNDOS · along the upper arc and the commemorative dates 1492 - 1992 along the lower arc in large raised letters. |
