Reverse description Central display of the crowned Bavarian royal arms — a quartered shield bearing the lozengy field of Bavaria and the Palatinate orb — mounted on a decorative plinth and supported on either side by a crowned lion rampant serving as heraldic supporter. A large royal crown surmounts the shield. The date appears in the exergue below the plinth, and the patriotic legend FÜR GOTT UND VATERLAND encircles the upper field, all within a milled border.
