Obverse description Bare-headed right-facing effigy of King Ludwig I of Bavaria, rendered in high relief with finely detailed curled hair and a small mustache, in the neoclassical style characteristic of engraver Carl Friedrich Voigt. The circular legend arcing around the upper field reads LUDWIG I KOENIG VON BAYERN, while the lower portion of the field bears the fineness inscription ZEHN EINE FEINE MARK, indicating ten coins to the fine mark. The engraver's signature C. VOIGT appears in small letters beneath the truncation of the bust.
