Reverse description An allegorical presentation scene in neoclassical style depicts Prince Otto of Bavaria, draped in a Roman mantle, receiving the Greek royal crown from a standing female personification of Greece, who leans upon a large shield to her right. A recumbent lion, the heraldic symbol of Bavaria, occupies the lower left of the composition. The circumferential legend OTTO PRINZ V. BAYERN GRIECHENLANDS ERSTER KOENIG arcs around the upper field, and the date 1832 is prominently placed in the exergue below the scene. This pattern variant features a plain shield without the Hellenic cross.
