The column is surmounted by a flame or torch finial. The bold vertical legend VERFASSUNGSSÄULE is inscribed along the left side of the field, with the attribution ERRICHTET VOM GR.V. SCHÖNBORN curving around the upper right. In the lower exergue, the dedication inscription EINGEWEIHT / 1828 records the year of consecration. The architectural rendering is precise and monumental in character, consistent with the commemorative Geschichtstaler series. |
