Obverse lettering LUDWIG I KŒNIG V. BAYERN C.VOIGT ZEHN EINE FEINE MARK
Reverse description The reverse features a central medallion bearing the right-facing draped bust of Queen Therese of Bavaria, encircled by the legend THERESE KOENIGIN VON BAYERN. Arranged symmetrically around the central portrait are eight smaller circular medallions, each containing a bust of one of the royal children — Maximilian, Mathilde, Otto, Adelgunde, Luitpold, Hildegard, Adalbert, and Alexandra — each identified by their name and the abbreviation P.V.B. (Prinz/Prinzessin von Bayern). The inscription SEGEN DES HIMMELS (Blessing of Heaven) arcs prominently across the upper field, and the date 1828 is placed in the exergue. The composition is an exceptional dynastic group portrait piece, exemplifying the Geschichtstaler tradition of commemorating significant royal family events through medallic coinage.
