| Opmerkingen |
The Banco Central de Reserva de El Salvador was established in 1934 under pressure from a U.S. financial mission dispatched after the colón's repeated instability during the Great Depression. ABNC handled Salvadoran notes through much of the mid-century, producing plates in New York that were shipped south for issue — a common arrangement for Central American central banks that lacked domestic printing infrastructure.
The P#83 series spans nearly a decade, suggesting reorders from the same ABNC plates rather than a redesigned issue. Plate reuse at this scale occasionally produced minor variation in ink density and serial numbering across print runs.
