附加信息	El Salvador's colón had been the national currency since 1892, but by the 1990s it was effectively a managed peg to the US dollar — a de facto arrangement that the Legislative Assembly formalized in 2001 with the Monetary Integration Law, which dollarized the economy entirely and retired the colón from circulation. This nickel clad steel issue, struck through the final years of that currency's existence, was obsolete within months of the series ending.
