备注

Banco Occidental was one of El Salvador's regional private banks, and by 1929 it was already operating on borrowed time. The Central Reserve Bank of El Salvador, established in 1934, effectively ended the era of private note-issuing banks in the country — notes like this one were withdrawn and redeemed as the monopoly on currency issue passed to the new central authority.

ABNC printed for dozens of Latin American clients during this period, and the intaglio quality on Salvadoran provincial issues is consistently high despite the modest denominations. This particular series is scarcer than its face value suggests — provincial bank notes from El Salvador were never produced in the quantities that capital-city issues were, and survival rates reflect it.
