| Obverse description | The obverse is printed in blue-black and red on white paper, centred by an intaglio vignette of a seated allegorical female figure — representing Agriculture or the Harvest — resting beside sheaves of grain and a basket of produce. Ornate guilloche panels bearing a large numeral '1' flank the central vignette on both sides, with the bank title 'EL BANCO SALVADOREÑO' arched across the top cartouche and the legend 'PAGARÁ A LA VISTA AL PORTADOR' below it. The denomination 'UN COLON' appears in large letterpress text along the lower portion, with the place and date of issue 'SAN SALVADOR, 1º DE JUNIO DE 1920' and 'SERIE A' printed at the sides. |
