| Descrizione del rovescio | Central field displays the Hanja denomination 一錢 (One Jeon) in large characters within an ornamental wreath composed of stylized floral and foliate branches tied at the base. Decorative plum blossoms, serving as the Imperial Seal motif of the Korean Empire, appear at intervals around the wreath. The design is contained within a beaded inner border and an outer milled rim with fine denticles, presenting a formal, symmetrical composition consistent with late Joseon imperial coinage aesthetics. |

These bronze chon pieces were struck at the Osaka Mint under the terms of the 1905 Eulsa Treaty — the agreement signed under military duress that stripped Korea of its diplomatic sovereignty and installed Itō Hirobumi as Resident-General. Korean coinage had already been in chaos for decades, the old yang system repeatedly debased and manipulated, and Japan's administration moved quickly to impose a rationalized monetary framework as one of its first acts of control. The chon denomination was new, introduced as part of that imposed restructuring.
Production ended abruptly in 1906, with formal annexation still four years off.
