| Obverse description | Seated allegorical figure of Hispania facing right, draped and resting upon rocky ground, holding an olive branch in her left hand with her right arm extended. The figure is rendered within a beaded inner circle, with the weight inscription UN GRAMO arching around the upper field on either side of the effigy. The date 1870 appears in the exergue below the beaded circle, engraved by Luis Marchionni Hombrón in a neoclassical style characteristic of the Provisional Government coinage. |
