Obverse description Bare-headed effigy of King Alfonso XIII facing left, depicted in military uniform with a detailed collar, engraved in high relief against a flat field. The portrait, representing the king's fifth official coinage type, is rendered in a mature, naturalistic style by engraver Bartolomé Maura Montaner. The circular legend runs along the periphery, separated from the effigy by a plain field, with a small six-pointed star serving as a stop at the base of the design.
