| 正面描述 | Laureate and draped bust of King Louis-Philippe I facing left, engraved in high relief by Jacques-Jean Barre, whose engraved signature appears at the base of the truncation. The peripheral legend reads LOUIS PHILIPPE I ROI DES FRANÇAIS, separated by dots, with the date 1847 positioned in the exergue below the bust. A fine dentilated border frames the entire design. |

Barre's 1847 pattern series was produced in the final months of the July Monarchy, a regime already fatally weakened by the campaign banquets movement agitating for electoral reform. Louis-Philippe abdicated in February 1848, meaning this design never reached circulation — replaced not by a revised royal coinage but by the entirely new republican series that followed the revolution. The "à la charte" type references the Constitutional Charter that had defined the July Monarchy's legitimacy since 1830.
At 1.08 g, this is notably lighter than the circulating centime it was intended to replace.
