| Obverse description | The Haitian national coat of arms occupies the central field, depicting a royal palm tree surmounted by the Cap of Liberty, flanked symmetrically by six furled flags and two crossed cannons resting on cannonballs at the base. The composition is rendered in fine relief with careful attention to naturalistic detail, characteristic of the Paris Mint's engraving tradition. The circular legend RÉPUBLIQUE D'HAÏTI arcs along the upper periphery in incuse Latin capitals. The motto L'UNION FAIT LA FORCE (Unity Makes Strength) appears in the lower exergue. The entire design is enclosed within a beaded border. |
