| 背面描述 | The denomination numeral '1' dominates the central field in a bold, upright serif style, with the date '1960' arching above it along the upper periphery in widely spaced digits. The word 'centime' is inscribed below in cursive script, mirroring the lettering style found on the obverse. Two small mint marks appear flanking the lower field on either side of the numeral. The reverse composition is strictly typographic, with no figurative elements, emphasizing clarity and legibility consistent with the utilitarian pre-series pattern design. |

| 附加信息 |
Pre-series strikings from the Monnaie de Paris were produced to test dies, blanks, and machinery before committing to full production runs — they were never intended for circulation and rarely left official hands. This 15mm Épi centime predates the 1960 redenomination that created the nouveau franc, making it part of the technical groundwork for one of France's most significant postwar monetary reforms, which lopped two zeros off all existing values by decree on 1 January 1960. Surviving examples are institutional escapees rather than legitimate releases, which explains why catalog references remain sparse and population data essentially nonexistent.
