Obverse description The quartered coat of arms of the Principality of Andorra occupies the central field, featuring the episcopal mitre and crozier of the Bishop of Urgell in the upper left quarter and vertical bars of Aragon in the upper right, with the horizontal bars of the Count of Foix in the lower left and two cows passant of the Viscount of Béarn in the lower right. The shield is framed by elaborate baroque-style cartouche scrollwork. The legend PRINCIPAT D'ANDORRA arcs along the upper periphery, while the motto VIRTUS UNITA FORTIOR appears on a banner beneath the shield. The date 2003 is positioned in the lower field between the cartouche and the rim.
