Beschrijving voorzijde The obverse features the denomination legend 'UN CENTESIMO' prominently displayed in two lines across the central field, flanked on either side by a curved laurel branch whose tips meet at the base. A arc of nine five-pointed stars curves above the denomination inscription. The circular peripheral legend 'REPUBLICA DE PANAMA' runs along the upper rim, separated by small dots, while the date '1982' appears in the lower exergual area between the laurel branches. The entire design is executed in high relief consistent with piefort pattern production.

Aanvullende informatie

The Uraca series of Panamanian patterns commemorates the Ngäbe chieftain who led sustained resistance against Spanish colonial forces in the early sixteenth century. This piefort — struck at roughly double the standard planchet thickness — was produced as a presentation or archival piece, not for circulation consideration. Panama's pattern coinage of the early 1980s was largely driven by Franklin Mint contracts, and the uniface reverse format here reflects an experimental striking sequence rather than a finished design proposal.
