Obverse description Left-facing effigy of Chief Urraca (Ubarragá Maniá Tigrí), the Ngäbe Amerindian chieftain from the Province of Veraguas who led resistance against Spanish conquest in Panama between 1520 and 1531. The legend '· URRACA ·' arcs above the portrait in the upper field. As a uniface piefort pattern, the obverse design is struck in high relief appropriate to the piefort format, with the remainder of the field left plain.
