Obverse description A Common Rhea (Rhea americana) depicted in right-facing profile stride occupies the central field, rendered in fine relief with detailed feather texture. The legend REPUBLICA ARGENTINA curves along the lower periphery in bold sans-serif Latin capitals, flanking the bird on either side. The design is uncluttered, with the large flightless bird dominating an otherwise plain field.
