Ovar's issues are among the more obscure of these local emissions — the town sits on the Aveiro coast and had no particular commercial weight, which kept print runs modest and survival rates lower than notes from larger municipalities. The 1 Centavo denomination was the smallest practical unit issued at this level, and many were worn to illegibility within months.
