Obverse description The Dominican national coat of arms occupies the central field, depicting a quartered shield with a Bible, a cross, and trophies of arms, flanked on either side by palm and laurel branches tied at the base. The shield is rendered in fine relief within an inner beaded circle. The circular legend REPUBLICA DOMINICANA runs along the upper periphery, with the essai mintmark letter E positioned at the base below the shield, accompanied by a small five-pointed star. A beaded border frames the entire design.
