| Obverse description | Central device features the Nicaraguan coat of arms rendered as an equilateral triangle enclosing five volcanic peaks rising from the sea, surmounted by a radiant Cap of Liberty emitting rays in the upper portion of the triangle. The national legend REPUBLICA DE NICARAGUA arcs along the upper periphery, and the date 1943 is positioned in the exergue below the triangle. A fine beaded border runs along the entire circumference of the coin. |
