Obverse description The obverse features the Guatemalan national coat of arms at centre, depicting a scroll inscribed with the date of independence (15 de Septiembre de 1821) flanked by two crossed rifles and two crossed swords, with a quetzal bird perched atop and laurel branches framing either side. The circular legend REPUBLICA DE GUATEMALA runs along the upper periphery, while the date 1925 appears prominently in the lower field. A beaded border encircles the entire design.
