| Obverse description | Central device depicts a stylized Mayan pyramid or stepped temple structure set within a circular inner border, representing an element of the Honduran coat of arms. The national legend REPUBLICA DE HONDURAS runs around the periphery in raised Latin lettering, separated from the milled rim by a beaded border. A small ornamental device appears at the base of the inner field beneath the pyramid motif. |

Honduras contracted these small copper pieces to foreign mints during a period when the national treasury lacked the infrastructure for domestic coinage production. The 1919–1920 dates correspond to the presidency of Francisco Bertrand, whose government collapsed mid-run in 1919 following a disputed election and armed revolt — making the two-year span of this issue less a planned series than a function of political turbulence interrupting normal procurement cycles.
