| 备注 |
Webb's City billed itself as "the world's most unusual drugstore" — a sprawling retail complex in downtown St. Petersburg that by mid-century had grown to occupy an entire city block with dozens of departments under one roof. James Earl Webb issued scrip like this as an in-store currency, redeemable only within the complex, a practice that kept customer spending circulating internally and reinforced the operation's near-carnival atmosphere.
The dimensions are unusually generous for a 1-cent denomination — nearly the length of a U.S. dollar bill but considerably taller, which made Webb's scrip immediately distinguishable from federal currency and harder to spend elsewhere by accident.
